„"Nabucco"” is an opera in four acts composed by Giuseppe Verdi in 1841, to a libretto by Temistocle Solera. The premiere took place at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan on 9 March 1842 and was a resounding success, which established Verdi as a major composer.

The opera is based on the biblical story of the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar II (abbreviated Nabucco), who conquered Jerusalem and exiled the Jews to Babylon.
