1.What is an eVisa and how can I apply for one? :

An eVisa is an entry authorization to Moldova issued in PDF format. The eVisa grants the same right of entry into the territory of Moldova as a regular visa in the form of a sticker in the passport. To apply for an eVisa, foreign citizens must access the Government web portal www.evisa.gov.md.

2.Types of e-visas that can be obtained online:

Only transit (type B) and short-stay (type C) visas can be obtained online. Applicants for airport transit (type A) and long-stay (type D) visas must contact one of the diplomatic missions or consular offices of the Republic of Moldova abroad.

3.Who reviews e-visa applications?:

Consular Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, in cooperation with other competent authorities.

4.Payment method: After completing the eVisa application, the applicant can pay with a credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard, etc.).

5.Electronic visa fee: The cost of the electronic visa is 40 euros.

6.Examination deadline of an electronic visa application: The period for examining the electronic visa application is up to 10 calendar days from the date of completion of the application; the term may be extended, if necessary, up to 20 days.

7.How can I find out the result of my e-visa application:

Within the legally established deadline, the applicant will be notified by e-mail about the result of the examination application. In case of approval, the applicant will receive the electronic visa in PDF format. It is also possible to check the status of your application at https://www.evisa.gov.md/VisaFile/Verifica.

8.Required documents that foreigners must present at the border crossing point:

  • Printed eVisa;
  • a travel document (passport);
  • a copy of the invitation, as well as other supporting documents depending on the purpose of the visit;
  • medical insurance for the period of stay in the Republic of Moldova.

All foreigners can apply for an eVisa if the purpose of their visit to Moldova is:

  • business
  • tourism
  • visiting relatives/friends
  • mission
  • sports activities
  • transport
  • cultural, humanitarian, scientific activities
  • transit
  • other activities permitted by law.

10. Facilities granted by applying for an electronic visa:

The only facility granted by the electronic visa is to submit the application online, without the applicant's personal presence at the Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Moldova. Foreigners coming from states that must present an invitation issued by the General Inspectorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova are not exempt from presenting this document when applying for the electronic visa.
